Sea Turtle Foundation acknowledges the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the traditional custodians of the ocean and land throughout Australia and recognises their continuing connection. First Nations people have used knowledge built up over thousands of years to sustainably manage the coastal waters of Australia where sea turtles live. This knowledge is being passed onto the current generation through stories, songs and dance.
